Dear People of Christ Church,

I am very pleased to announce that The Rev. Ragan Sutterfield will soon join the Christ Church staff as an associate priest. He brings an abundance of gifts and skills, and I look forward to the many ways, both known and as yet unknown, that we will be blessed by his ministry among us. Here are a few introductory details about Ragan and his family.

Ragan is married to Emily Sutterfield and has two daughters, Lily (age 5) and Lucia (age 2). Emily has a Masters in Sustainable Development and works as a mother, a swim coach, and a curriculum developer. Ragan is the author of three books, Cultivating Reality (Cascade), This is My Body (Random House), and Wendell Berry and the Given Life (Franciscan Media). He has published numerous articles in magazines ranging from The Christian Century to The Oxford American. He graduated cum laude with an M.Div. from Virginia Theological Seminary, where he was awarded the Harris Prize for academic excellence and leadership. Since graduating, he has served as curate at St. Margaret’s Episcopal Church in Little Rock. Ragan enjoys birding, trail running, cycling, foraging, and exploring the natural world with his family.

Ragan will start at Christ Church on Sunday, October 1. Please keep the Sutterfield family in your prayers as they prepare to join us soon.

Faithfully yours,

The Rev. Dr. Kate Alexander
