Job Description

As a cornerstone of our administrative staff, the Parish Administrator will support the clergy and lay ministries of the parish, oversee the parish finances and facilities, supervise hourly employees, and provide pastorally sensitive hospitality to all who come through our doors. This person will work directly under the supervision of the  Rector.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Administrative support for staff and volunteers

  • Oversight of finances and payroll, record keeping, and reporting

  • Management of property and service contracts and coordination of building related expenses with the Building & Grounds Committee

  • Oversight of parish membership and giving

  • Coordination of lay ministries

  • Supervision of hourly employees (including part-time bookkeeper)

  • Coordination of facility use, events, and shared calendars

  • Hospitality

  • Supply ordering and working with vendors

Required Skills and Experience

  • 5+ years of work experience

  • Strong organizational and communications skills

  • Careful attention to detail

  • Ability to work independently and as a team member

  • Proficiency with office software

  • Pastoral sensitivity and ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality within and outside of the parish

  • Non-anxious presence and a welcoming spirit

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Experience in a church or non-profit environment

  • Effective use of social media and graphic design

  • General knowledge of Christ Church, the Episcopal Church, and its core beliefs

  • Familiarity with fund accounting in a non-profit setting

  • Applicants are not required to be a member of Christ Church or Episcopalian

Compensation

  • Salary starting at $55,000

  • Paid time off with additional time for continuing education

  • Health insurance with vision and dental, life insurance, short and long term disability, and pension benefits

  • This position will require a background check and Safe Church training

Hours

This is a full-time position, including work on Sunday mornings.
