The service will be a Liturgy of the Word and will include the Invitation to a Holy Lent, the Litany of Penitence, and the Imposition of Ashes. The Imposition of Ashes has been observed in a variety of ways around the world. It serves as a reminder of our mortality and our connection to the earth. This year, we invite you impose ashes on yourselves and your family members at home as you stream our service. You might use ashes you create at home or soil from your garden.
